Millions of Americans are getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday, and making sure there are plenty of snacks at the party is a solemn responsibility.
But so is protecting our families – and that’s why we’ll be skipping Kroger when we’re doing our Super Bowl party shopping this weekend. Kroger still refuses to prohibit customers from openly carrying guns in their stores, and that puts all shoppers at risk.
Until Kroger get’s off the sidelines, will you join us in shopping with team #GunSense?

Really, Kansas?
State-by-state, the gun lobby is working to weaken and eventually eliminate minimum standards to carry concealed weapons in public. We strongly oppose this effort.
A clean recent criminal history and basic gun safety training should be required for a person to carry a hidden, loaded gun in public. Don’t you agree?
This is HUGE! Oregon Governor Kate Brown just signed background checks into law!
Oregon is now the 18th state to require criminal background checks on all handgun sales – and the 12th to require them on all gun sales. This is an incredible victory for Oregon – but also for gun sense across the country – because it shows what happens when we come together and stand up to the gun lobby. Not only do we win, we win BIG.
When will Kroger get serious about the health and safety of their customers and employees?
Don’t let gun extremists force Safeway to back down
Attention Gun Sense Shoppers! Safeway – one of the country’s largest grocery chains – is asking shoppers to leave their guns at home. This important policy means they’ve created a safe shopping experience that we should all keep in mind when it comes to stocking up.
But now gun extremists are attacking the supermarket chain – all because of this common-sense policy.
Use this tool to automatically send a thank-you message to Safeway’s CEO for taking this important stand despite fierce opposition. The more of us who speak out, the more we’ll drown out the extremists coming after Safeway.
Former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith was shot and killed during an argument with another driver following a car accident Saturday night in New Orleans. Smith’s wife was also shot multiple times and taken to the hospital.
There is no reason that a car accident should turn into a murder. Another senseless act of gun violence in America destroys a family and leaves three children without a father.

Today marks 17 years since the mass shooting at Columbine High School. Join us in taking a moment today to remember the victims and their families.
Let’s honor their memories by fixing the holes in our background check system that let dangerous people get guns, so no family ever has to endure the pain of losing a child to gun violence again.
Illustrations of some of the ridiculous things said during a recent gun safety hearing on strengthening background checks.
Saturday is the first day of National Gun Violence Survivors Week – when we ask everyone to shine a spotlight on the stories of Americans who have had loved ones taken by gun violence, who have been wounded or threatened with a gun, or witnessed a shooting.
We’ll be sharing the stories of survivors and statistics that highlight the impact of gun violence.
