This is just a small part of the incredible response to #WearingOrange today!
Together, we sent a loud message that we MUST do more to end gun violence in our country now.
We turned America Orange!
😎 Don’t leave the house today without 🔶#WearingOrange 🔶 for National Gun Violence Awareness Day ✌
Tomorrow’s the big day. Be sure to create your own #WearingOrange pledge image before it’s too late! http://every.tw/1FGiT0K
Why orange? The color orange symbolizes the value of human life. Hunters wear orange to alert other hunters that they’re there — as a way to take care of their own life and the lives of others. A couple of years ago, teens on the South Side of Chicago asked their classmates to wear orange in honor of a friend who was shot and killed. Now, we’re amplifying their call to action and turning orange into a symbol for the value of human life everywhere.
If you believe there’s more we can do to save American lives from gun violence, you are Orange.
Show the world why you’ll be #WearingOrange on June 2 for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. You can wear orange for your family, your city, our country – or any person or place you care deeply about.
